Baby Austin Benefit Auction

Last year, a great friend of mine lost her son. Being a mother I could not even begin to fathom the pain that comes along with losing a child. I was able to get so many amazing vendors to donate great items and raise money to help their family. I was completely in awe of the support I received and the amount of money people were donating. It was such a humbling experience to know that so many people that never met sweet Danielle would be there to help her out in such a rough time.

Yesterday, I learned that Traci Ryant (who you all know takes most of the pictures you see on BreezyBug), has a very close friend, Shanna, who also lost her son, Austin. She had such a short time with him, and my heart completely breaks for her. I know that God has a plan for everyone, and somehow, even if we can't understand, He had a plan for Austin too. I cannot imagine the pain she is feeling right now though. As Traci has said, the last thing she should have to be thinking about right now is the financial burden that will come along with this tragedy.

So that's where I feel I can help.

I would love to get as many vendors as possible to donate to this action. People will be able to bid on the items donated, and all of those proceeds from my paypal will go directly to their family to help with any expenses that they may have. I will also be setting up a paypal donation, so if you do not have anything you would like to bid on, but would still like to help out, you have another option.

Please send any questions you may have, or items you would like to donate to Breezy_Boutique@yahoo.com.

Below is the donate button in case you would like to just donate any amount. Paypal funds will not be taken out if you use the "donate" button.

Thank you all SO much!

BreezyBug BIG one year celebration!

A year ago this month I got this crazy idea. I thought, "Gosh, I really wish I had headbands to match ALL of my daughters outfits!" She was 11 months at the time, (I know, almost 2 now..sad face!) and I was staying at home with just her after deciding to not go back to teaching for now to focus on her. I wanted to make affordable hair accessories that I could not find at the store. I started off wanting to do some lined alligator clips, because that is what she was wearing at the time. I loved doing it so much, I started a facebook page.  For a while, just friends and family were buying things from me (I love you guys), but soon I decided to expand and make headbands. I made silk flowers on the crochet headbands...you know, the normal ones you see every day (which I still like!).

I then added my sister to the mix. We learned together how to do rosettes, satin flowers, and other techniques that are different than what you can find in a store.  She is a FABULOUS sewer and has made all of the pillowcase dresses, pacifier clips, and wraps you all love. I also learned tutus and lots of other cute ways to make hair pretties. I found some amazing photographers that help me take amazing pics of our pretties, and  I can't thank them enough! (Traci-Ryant Photography, Sarah-Beth Photography, LaneyBug Photography, J. Photography, Photochyck Photography, etc...) We are planning to continue to learn and grow this business. I have some big hopes and dreams people! :)

Me and my Aubree (breezybug was named after her!)

My sister and her Charlee :) (She is also having a little boy, Jensen, in September!)

Because of all of YOU we now have nearly 2000 fans! TWO THOUSAND! Last year I did a week long giveaway and had 4 people apply. This year I did a 24 hour giveaway and had nearly 90 people apply! That is insane! This business has become a HUGE part of our lives, and all of you make it possible. We could not have got to where we are now if not for our incredible fans.

So what can we do to repay you all for your kindness?

Well, I will tell you.

We will give ONE person their choice of TWO colors of our most popular satin flowers! (I wear these almost every single day!)

ONE person will get the famous headband everyone loves!

And the GRAND PRIZE WINNER will get a $25 gift certificate to use for Breezybug! WOAH! Yeah, you saw that correctly....TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS! (That is the most we have given by far!) You can spend it on whatever you would like!

How do you enter?

All you have to do is comment on this blog telling me your favorite item from BreezyBug OR something you would like to see in our shop!

IF you comment a second time giving a link (make sure you unblock the post if your profile is private) of a facebook status sharing this giveaway, you will get a second entry.

PLEASE no other posts! If you post more than the two alloted entries, your post will be deleted to keep it fair to the other participants!

You have until MIDNIGHT of Friday, August 12th to complete your entries! Winners will be drawn Saturday!

Good luck and THANK YOU for making this past year unforgettable and amazing! We love our fans!

Needs to be said!

First, let me start by saying I LOVE all our fans. Truly and honestly, I have made a few really great friendships and have some very loyal customers due to BreezyBug!

That being said, there are a few things that need to be thrown out there. I hope to put this in the nicest way possible, but these are things weighing heavily on me at the moment.

I started BreezyBug back in August. I looked at all of my Breezy's clips and headbands and STILL could not find something to match 'that' outfit. Why not make them myself?! I was a teacher...creative and crafty at heart. Now I stay home with her and need an outlet for my crafty side. What better thing to do?

I went through a couple of giveaways where NO one did them. I was discouraged because why wouldn't people just simply comment to have a chance to win something for free! I kept at it. I researched. I tried new things. I failed at some. I watched tutorials and joined crafting blogs. I added my sister to the mix, and she brought a ton of new and exciting ideas. I sponsored many, many giveaways and I spent a countless amount of money on giveaways building my fan base. I spent HOURS AND HOURS making an Etsy page and retaking pictures of our products. I re-did facebook and all my albums. I spent more hours just making things the way I know I'd like to see them if I were a paying customer. We got tags and business cards. We *tried* to learn the best ways to ship our stuff. We had a party! We.did.a.lot.

Here is the point of telling you that. I did all of that on my own. I never once went on a more established page and promoted myself. Again, I spent a lot of money and a lot of time, and so do other pages. It is so easy to go on a page with 1000+ fans and just post on there, "hey, come check out my business everyone!" I give you MAJOR props for starting a business. It's hard, I know! I wish you the most success. But PLEASE respect that this is my business...it's my baby. I could have tried doing it the easy way, but that is not respectful to others who had worked hard to get to where they were. And when you have a business that is similar to mine, please understand that although I am sure your work is beautiful, you are still competitive to us. You wouldn't go in Verizon and see AT&T brochures, correct? Seriously, I do wish you luck. I hope you understand where I am coming from... *There are pages meant to JUST promote your business as well, by the way!!*

Finally, if you are a boutique (especially if you sell bows), please please please understand that we are all creative. We all make our own stuff. However, I could easily say aside from maybe fabrics, pretty much nothing is original. I, more than anyone, don't want to see my stuff get copied. But guess what? It happens, and will continue to happen! Even when i make something and say "goodness, this is really cool, I have never seen anything like this!" I really don't know that! There are a millllllion hair accessory boutiques. They are all unique in their own way. They all do things their own way. And if you think someone copied, even if it's hard to feel this way, take that as a good thing...you are inspiring!

****BE CONFIDENT IN YOUR OWN BUSINESS! BE CONFIDENT IN YOUR PRODUCTS! DO NOT WORRY ABOUT OTHER BOUTIQUES AND SHOPS! JUST DO YOUR THING AND DO IT WELL! I PROMISE IT IS NOT WORTH THE WORRY AND STRESS!

(Please remind me of this from time to time!) :)

I really hope I didn't come off as rude or mean, that was not my intention! It was just something that had to be said!

Thanks for reading!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I still can't believe the support and love shown in the four short days this auction went on. People paid $20 for a headband I charge $8.50 for. People paid $120 and $70 for a photo session with some amazing photographers. We made at LEAST retail price on almost everything, if not over retail! I could go on and on.

First off, I want to thank EVERYONE who donated to the cause. Seriously, I could NOT have made this possible if not for you guys. BreezyBug was just a small contributer compared to the generosity of the other shops and people who donated. Here is a breakdown.

Blissful Booty- $24
Bowtastic Bows- $4
Crochet Medley- $22
I Heart Rock n Roll (and my crafty things too) $15

Grand Total- $520!!!!!!! AMAZING!

I am SO incredibly amazed by you guys! Even if you did not win, your bid means the world to me. I know Danielle has expressed so many times how appreciative she is to all of you.

Danielle has continued to amaze me with her strength, faith, and love. She stays at home with this little cutie...

Her husband had to take some time off of work to help take care of Capri, Danielle, and family, so I KNOW your donations will help!

I just wanted to share a couple of pics if you have not seen these...

These were taken of little Boston by the amazing Lane of LaneyBug Photos, who not only donated a photo session, but also bid on several of the items. Check her out, thank her, show her love!

Also, Heaven Scent ღஜღflameless candlesღஜღ ~Ronee Appleby~ ran her own fundraiser for Boston! She is donating all her commission made on these sales! Thank you Ronee!! <3

Show all the donators love if you have not already. They deserve it!

Donators, bidders, winners, givers, people who offered their prayers...ALL is appreciated!

ALSO I will put together a giveaway for hitting the goal of $500+! You should see it in the next day or so. I PROMISE it will be awesome. IF you bid, even if you did not win, you will get an extra entry in the giveaway! :)

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Baby Boston Benefit

I know that in times of tragedy, people come together. Well I hope people come together in this time. I feel the pull of God on my heart telling me to do something. I know I have the means to help, and I hope you can all help me.

My friend Danielle and her husband just had to suffer the tragic loss of their precious son Boston. Baby Boston was born April 1st, and went to Heaven that same day. He was 3lbs 12oz. of perfection. My heart breaks for her and her family. I just can NOT imagine having to deal with that. It's so easy to say it is not fair for such an amazing family, followers in Christ, loving parents to an amazing girl, Capri...to have to go through this. It's.just.not.fair.  But He does have a purpose for everything, and Danielle's faith is still stronger than ever, which is so encouraging. Here she is, mourning the most tragic loss possible, giving her friends and family words of encouragement and love.  I don't know if I could ever be that strong.  It is truly amazing to me. It makes my faith in God grow even more. That He can give her comfort in this time of sadness...

I would like to put together an online auction to help their family out with food, home, her daughter Capri, other expenses they might encounter in this time. I have this incredible business that will allow me to put this together, and I pray that other business' will come together and help out. I will put any item donated together with BreezyBug items, and give all proceeds to their family.

I made a donation fund through paypal as well (at the bottom of this blog) for those who do not want to buy anything, or just want to help the family.

If you would like to donate anything, PLEASE e-mail me at Breezy_Boutique@yahoo.com.  Send me a picture of the item you would like to donate, normal price you sell the item for, and a short description. The bidding will start on Monday, April 11th at 10am, and go through Thursday, April 14th at 8pm EST. I can't tell you how much I would appreciate your help and support. I know that if I were in her shoes, I would so appreciate help, love, and encouragement in any way possible.  Even if it's just a prayer for Danielle, her husband, Capri, and baby Boston.

I am in love...with a T3i....

So I have ALWAYS ALWAYS wanted to do some sort of photography. Always. I mean it's been sorta a passion. Plus it comes in handy to have great pictures when you run your business, right?

So I have been saving and saving like I did when I was like 6 to get this baby doll that was the coolest baby doll you could buy. But my new doll is not quite as cheap as the one at 6 years old.  Saturday, hubby calls me and tells me to go to the store, buy my camera I want, give him what I had saved, and he'd take care of the rest. AWESOME! :) I love him...

And now I LOVE my new Canon t3i! Love.love.love. Anyways, I have taken some pics of some pretties as well as my pretty little Breezy girl (and "B" my little model 6 month old cutie I babysit!) Thought I would share some of them...

Oh yeah...I had to add this as a side...because I love it. :)
